THE CORFIELD TAVERN
292 Corfield Street, Gosnells WA
April 2024
This blue monochromatic nature scene emblazons the length of the main entrance wall of the Corfield tavern.
Featuring kangaroos, a tree lined horizon and stretching fields, two grain silos beam prominently in contrast to the illuminated sky. The scene is framed by large towering trees and leafy undergrowth vegetation.
This mural composition is a homage to the countryside synonymous with both Manjimup and Gosnells, as well as to Tall Timbers Brewing and the house lager they brew for the tavern, Corfield Draught.
The Corfield Draught branding features a historical blue sepia photo taken in Gosnells in the early 1900’s, which was the inspiration for the mural’s blue colour scheme.
I wanted this mural to capture detail and depth that can be enjoyed up close, as well as spectacular boldness that catches your eye from from a distance.
Special thanks to @cave_dro for the opportunity to paint this beauty 🙌
